art with a cause

Jen Corace is my new favourite illustrator and fine artist. I think her combination of pastel-like colours with playful narratives gives her work an adult innocence. Who doesn't want to be ice-skating with their best friend/sister in a brilliant coat in a forest setting? I couldn't save the pic, but go to the fine art section, bottom right to make sense of my description.

I recently purchased her artwork, Down Down Down, sold through Tiny Showcase to support the Gulf Restoration Network. They raised $11,595 USD in 10 days through the contribution of 50% of sales of her swimmingly sensational creativity. Tiny Showcase is one site that deserves full cred for curatorial vision and charity fundraising. Go to it and buy yourself a great print for a good cause.

Treehugger - a discovery company, I couldn't agree more.

The Kitchen Garden Foundation - Stephanie Alexander's gold lion action to get young people engaged in their health and wellbeing through the support of an education program to grow organic food and learn to cook to sustain a lifetime of good energy - all this at school! I wish I was in Prep again.

an article on intuition

I find that as a community we undervalue the importance of intuition.

It's not a coincidence that I feel lighter after every yoga session, when I have given my mind and body the space to work intuitively together instead of by habit.

This is a great article to remind us that we have feelings and we should listen to them. It's not a surprise that when we are stressed or excited we get butterflies in our stomach. Our gut is one indicator of how we feel.
